17.11.1941: Torpedoed and sunk 60mile east of East London by the Vicky French sub LE HEROS. On passage from Chittagong

                     and Madras to Table Bay and Uk with scrapiron, jute and tea. All onboard survived, but 3rd mate died onboard the 

                     lifeboat by illness.
